A Mach1 Motorsport teve um fim de semana de muito sucesso na segunda rodada do ADAC Kart Masters em Liedolsheim (Alemanha). Na noite de domingo, a equipe tinha dois pilotos no pódio e Luca Walter era o novo líder da categoria IAME X30 Júnior.
A categoria KF3 contava com 49 pilotos no grid e forte concorrencia internacional da segunda etapa do ADAC Kart Masters. Após um início promissor em Oschersleben, Mario Abbate começou cauteloso este fim de semana. Na qualificação ele ficou com a 29ª posição, mas progradiu muito nas baterias classificatórias do sabado, que completou em 12º e 1º, repectivamente, garantindo a a 18ª posição para a grelha de partida da primeira corrida do domingo. A corrida foi tumultuada para o piloto da Mach1, que acabou perdendo duas posições, mas na segunda corrida Abbate conseguiu boa recuperação, completando em 14º. No campeonato Mario, agora ocupa o 13º lugar na tabela.
O irlandês John Norris e seu companheiro de equipe Mach1, o alemão Lukas Speck, disputaram as provas da KF2. Na estreita e sinuosa pista de 1060 metros de Baden os dois pilotos foram sempre muito rápidos. John começou bem as eliminatórias, largando em quinto na primeira corrida e, com um bom desempenho, partindo para o ataque nas dezessete voltas de corrida, que completou na segunda posição. Na final o irlandês não conseguiu manter o bom desempenho, por conta dos pneus de seu kart que estavam muito desgastados, mas ainda cruzando a linha final em quinto. Seu companheiro de equipe Lucas Speck teve alguns problemas de bateria e motor nas eliminatórias e foi apenas o 27º no grid para a primeira corrida das finais. Mas Lukas estava altamente motivada e iniciou uma recuperação espetacular. Na primeira corrida completou em 13º e na segunda recebeu a bandeira a quadros na sexcta posição.
Para completar os bons resultados da Mach1 Kart, Luca Walter teve um desempenho fantástico na categoria Junior IAME X30. Depois de subir no pódio em Oschersleben, Walter fez duas corridas emocionantes em Liedolsheim, vencendo a primeira e chegando em segundo na outra, para assumir a liderança isolada do campeonato.
Já à noite, Martin Hetschel o chefe da equipe Mach1 Kart só encontrava palavras positivas para descrever o final de semana: “Mais uma vez nós mostramos o que é possível com nosso equipamento e estou confiante que podemos voltar surpreender várias vezes nesta temporada”.
No próximo final de semana a equipe Mach1 Motorsport vai disputar a primeira do Campeonato Alemão de Kart, em Genk (Bélgica) e a segunda etapa do Rotax Euro Challenge em Wackersdorf, na Alemanha.

International - Mach1 Kart führt das ADAC Kart Masters an
Ein durchaus erfolgreiches Wochenende erlebte das Mach1 Motorsport Team beim zweiten Durchgang des ADAC Kart Masters in Liedolsheim. Am Sonntagabend stellte das Team gleich zwei Piloten auf dem Siegerpodest und Luca Walter konnte die Führung im Gesamtklassement der IAME X30 Junioren übernehmen.
In der Klasse KF3 stellte sich Mario Abbate der starken internationalen Konkurrenz. Nach seinem guten Auftakt in Oschersleben, startete Mario etwas verhalten in das zweite Rennwochenende. Im Zeittraining reichte es für ihn zu Position 29. Einen Aufwärtstrend legte er in den Vorläufen hin. Nach Rang 12 und 16 durfte er am Sonntagmorgen auf Position 18 platznehmen. Das Rennen verlief jedoch sehr turbulent und er büßte zwei Plätze ein. Einen großen Sprung nach vorne machte er im zweiten Lauf. Als 14. sammelte Mario weitere Meisterschaftszähler und liegt nun auf Gesamtposition 13.
Der Ire John Norris und sein Teamkollege Lukas Speck starteten in der KF2. Auf dem engen und winkligen Kurs in Baden fühlte sich John Norris auf Anhieb wohl und hielt die deutsche Konkurrenz in Schach. Im Zeittraining reichte es für ihn zu Position fünf und selbige sprang auch nach den Heats heraus. Das erste Rennen brachte für Norris eine weitere Steigerung. Schon in der Startphase konnte er einige Position gut machen und sah das Ziel als Zweiter. Seine Reifen wurden ihm jedoch im zweiten Lauf zum Verhängnis. John konnte nicht mehr voll attackieren und wurde als Fünfter abgewinkt. Sein Teamkollege Lucas Speck war ebenfalls sehr erfolgreich, musste allerdings in den Vorläufen auf Grund von Batterie- und Motorproblemen einen herben Rückschlag einstecken und stand dadurch im ersten Rennen nur auf Startposition 27. Hochmotiviert starte er in den Rennen eine spektakuläre Aufoljagd und wurde 13. im ersten und erstklassiger Sechster im Zeiten Lauf.
Für den größten Mach1 Kart Erfolg sorgte Luca Walter in der Klasse IAME X30 Junioren. Nach einem Podestplatz in Oschersleben, legte Walter diesmal noch einen oben drauf. In einem spannenden ersten Rennen erkämpfte er sich Platz zwei und holte im Finale sogar den Sieg. Nach diesem Erfolg führt Walter die Gesamtwertung an.
Teamchef Martin Hetschel fand am Abend nur positive Worte: „Wir haben wieder einmal gezeigt, was mit unserem Material möglich ist und ich bin zuversichtlich, dass wir diese Saison noch für die ein oder andere Überraschung sorgen können.“
Am kommenden Wochenende folgen für das Team die nächsten großen Aufgaben. Im belgischen Genk fällt der Startschuss für die Deutsche Kart Meisterschaft und Mach1 Motorsport ist mit von der Partie. Gleichzeitig ist die andere Hälfte des Teams in Wackersdorf bei der zweiten Runde der Rotax Euro Challenge vertreten.

International - Mach1 Kart leads the ADAC Kart Masters
Mach1 Motorsport had a very successful weekend at the second round of the ADAC Kart Masters in Liedolsheim (Germany). With Luca Walter one driver of the German kart manufacture leads the IAME X30 junior championship after the race.
The KF3 was with 49 drivers the biggest class at the second meeting of the ADAC Kart Masters. After a promising start in Oschersleben, Mario Abbate started cautious into this weekend. In the qualifying he was only 29th, but stepped up with rank 12 and 16 to position 18 in the starting grid for the first race. These were very turbulent for him and he finished the weekend in the final race of place 14th. In the championship Mario is now 13th overall.
John Norris from Ireland and Lukas Speck from Germany started in the KF2. On the challenging 1060 Meter long course the two guys were very fast. John started after the heats from the position 5th into the first race. In the 17 laps he showed a great performance and was on the brilliant second position at the end. In the final race the Irish guy couldn’t attack. His tyres were exhausted and he passed the finish line as 5th. His teammate Lucas Speck had some battery and engine problems in the heats and was only 27th in the grid for Race1. But Lukas was highly motivated and started a spectacular comeback. In the first run he was 13th and in the second 6th.
For the greatest success caused Luca Walter in the IAME X30 junior class. After a podium in Oschersleben he secured in two excited races place one and two and leads the overall championship at the moment.
In the evening team boss Martin Hetschel found only positive words: „Once again we have shown what is possible with our material and I am confident that we can surprise this season several times.“
Next weekend the team will start at the first race of the German Kart Championship in Genk (Belgium) and at the second round of the Rotax Euro Challenge in the German Wackersdorf.
